Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Research
 
The most active members of Baltic Osseointegration Academy (BOA) are doing scientific research in the field of dental implantology and osseointegration. The main fields of this activity are: dental implant installation in aesthetic zone, soft tissue influence on the dental implant long life results and bone condition, the reparation of bone tissue and others. The results of research are constantly published in scientific periodical publication in Lithuania and worldwide. The most active BOA members are lectors of congresses, conferences, courses in various regions of the world. The links to the articles and presented reports are placed on CV’s of Academy Board members.
The official publication of the BOA is international scientific electronic journal "Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Research".

 

 

BOA Scientific Committee welcomes young scientists!
 

Since, BOA supports the advancement of science and some of our members who are the university pedagogues, we also support young scientists under age of 30, who are engaged in scientific activities in the field of oral rehabilitation using dental implants.

The top young scientists of 2010 who are engaged in scientific activities in the field of oral rehabilitation using dental implants have been found:

 
  Povilas Daugela, Kaunas University of Medicine (tutor - Dr. Gintaras Januzis)
  Olga Svediene, Vilnius University (tutor - Dr. Tomas Linkevicius)
 
They had a unique opportunity to read the scientific reports during the Second International BOA Congress "New Achievements in Implant Dentistry", which was focused on the oral rehabilitation using dental implants. The Congress was held on 10th and 11th of September 2010 in Kaunas hotel “Park Inn Kaunas”, at the Conference Centre"Alfa." Povilas Daugela presented two topics: "Biological properties of the periosteum and its handling in alveolar process reconstruction" and "The significance of diagnostic criteria on the outcomes of sinus lift surgery". Olga Svediene presented another interesting research - "The influence of impression material and imlant placement depth on stability of open tray impression copings".
 
The Scientific Committee of BOA would like to congratulate young scientists. We also hope that these young people will continue their scientific activity in future!
