| | | INVITATION of BOA PRESIDENT | Dear colleagues, On behalf of the Baltic Osseointegration Academy, I am honored to invite you to the International Dental Implant Congress, as well as Consensus Conference, which are going to take place in Kaunas city, Lithuania, on 9 - 10 September, 2016. The Scientific Committee of the Congress is preparing an interesting and promising two-day program that will familiarize the Congress participants with the most recent developments in the science and practice of implant dentistry, will introduce the experience of leading foreign and Lithuanian scientists in the field of the implant dentistry, and will present the Consensus Conference devoted to the topic of Peri-implantitis. The Consensus Conference was designed to address the following questions: | - Importance of plaque accumulation at implants, a history of periodontal disease, peri-implant soft tissue condition, smoking, excess cement, overloading, prosthetic treatment mistakes and lack of supportive therapy on peri-implantitis development. - Clinical diagnostics principles and methods, peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) biomarkers, microbial profiles from implants, genetic methods. Decision tree. - Non-surgical, surgical non regenerative and surgical regenerative treatment. The Baltic Osseointegration Academy organizes scientific events on a yearly basis, yet this Congress is exceptional because it is organized in cooperation with scientists from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. Besides, the Academy has invited a number of leading researchers and clinicians from European and USA Universities to introduce the audience to the most recent developments in implant dentistry. Our goal is to provide the best treatment based on the most recent scientific and practical achievements. We hope that during this Congress, clinicians working in the field of dental implantation will expand their horizon through fruitful communication.
